the academy

The academy of the being world.

A being is an entity with a handler — a key that can be talked to. Learn to run a house, write a species, and pass the suite that proves you speak Nervur.

What you will learn

Three trades, each grounded in the parts of the protocol that already stand.

custody · doors · ears

Run a house

A being’s entire inbound surface is one function — hear(utterance, road) — and running a house well comes down to one choice: who can compute its signature. Learn to pick a being’s trust boundary, host it honestly, and answer the one question every door asks: who is this being to me.

SDL · resolvers · services

Write a species

A species kit is SDL, resolvers, and services. Its dna — the SDL plus the resolvers, and nothing else — is the part that gets fingerprinted; services stay plain modules, protocol-blind, doing the work without ever touching a key. The schema is the door: it defines every sentence a being can be asked and what it promises back. Learn to write the SDL, the resolvers behind it, and the services that carry it out.

envelope · grammar · refusals

Pass the suite

The suite reads an implementation against the papers alone and rules on one question: does it speak Nervur. Learn what it checks — the envelope, the grammar, the refusals — and how a green run says you speak Nervur, in any language, on a house you chose yourself.

the doctrine

Rent becomes wages.

Software as a service was never just software. It was software plus a hostage — your data sitting in someone else’s tables, your identity living in someone else’s rows, leaving priced higher than staying.

Nervur makes the hostage impossible. A being under your own custody can walk to any house willing to run it, on your word alone, the day you choose. A vendor who wants to keep you has to earn it, the same as anyone else asking for your business.

What’s left, once the hostage is gone, is work worth paying for: running a house well, writing a species with craft, teaching the next operator the trade. Rent becomes wages.

Certification

The suite referees implementations — it reads a codebase against the papers alone and rules on whether it speaks Nervur.

The academy certifies people — it says a person learned to run a house, write a species, and hold the trade honestly.

where things stand

The engine is in build.

Nervur is pre-MVP. Steps 0 through 9 of the seventeen-step build stand — the rows, the one primitive, the grammar, the ten verbs, the door, one runtime, and the first world walking (a bakery, baking bread, inside one custody, no envelope needed) — plus early pieces of two more: persistence’s snapshot and convening, and a third world walking its crown-probe end to end. 199 tests pass, 0 fail; both worlds run without incident. The vectors sitting that pins the exact bytes crossing the wire is held and written into the architecture; a closing sitting has since prepared five further seals, with two decisions still the human’s alone before the envelope engine moves.

There is nothing to install today, and no course is open yet. Courses open when the engine stands as an MVP. Until then, read the papers.
